Mappiva helps people who are physically near each other notice each other. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the control you have. If anything is unclear, write to support@mappiva.com.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Profile: first name, birthdate (to confirm you are 18 or older and to show your age), gender and who you'd like to see, photo, bio, interests and status.
• Location: a reading from your phone, only while the app is open and you have chosen to be visible.
• Activity: who you noticed or passed, your matches, your messages, and people you block or report.
• Device: a notification token, if you allow notifications.

How we use your location

• We use it only to show you to people nearby, and to show you people nearby, while you are visible.
• Other people never see coordinates or a map. They see a rough distance, such as "very close" or "about 500 m".
• We do not track you in the background.
• When you go invisible, your location is deleted from our servers.

Safe Zones

Safe Zones are saved only on your phone. We never receive them. Your position is checked on your phone, and nothing is uploaded while you are inside a zone.

Who can see what

People nearby can see your first name, age, photo and status when you are visible. Your bio and interests are visible on your full profile. Messages are visible only to you and the person you matched with. We do not sell your data.

Keeping you safe

If you report someone, our team reviews the report, which may include the messages involved. Blocked people cannot see you and you cannot see them.

Service providers

We use Supabase to store data and run the service, and Expo to deliver notifications. They process data on our behalf.

Your choices

• Turn visibility off at any time.
• Edit your profile in the app.
• Delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete account). This permanently removes your profile, photos, location data, matches and messages.

Age

Mappiva is for people 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app.
